Vegan pretzel bites are a perfect snack for a cozy movie night.
If you are tired of same store-bought snacks, these pretzel bites are a great and fun alternative! They are very tasty and soft and they are also fun to make and look super cute. Pretzel bites are soft on the inside with a crispy crust on the outside and they are best when combined with some tasty dipping sauce like vegan nacho sauce, guacamole, ketchup, hummus… The bites are very easy to prepare, all you need are 7 very basic ingredients. Ingredients and instructions
You only need 7 simple ingredients to make these delicious pretzel bites:
- flour– whole purpouse,
- corn flour,
- dry yeast,
- salt,
- plant based drink– it’s best to use unsweetened one,
- water and
- baking soda.
Place flour, corn flour, dry yeast, salt and lukewarm soy drink in a bowl. Knead the ingredients to form a dough, cover it and let it rise for at least 45 minutes in a warm place. When the dough has risen, divide it into smaller parts. Form each part into a roll and cut into small pieces. Put water in a large pot and bring to a boil. When it starts boiling, add salt and baking soda. Put bites into boiling water and let them boil for 1 to 2 minutes. Then drain them and put them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, add coarse salt on top of each one. Bake for 15 minutes at 200 °C. Serve fresh with dipping sauce.
