The holidays are slowly approaching, which also means time for giving gifts to our loved ones and making them happy with a little gift. Since finding gifts can be stressful, when we have no idea what to give, we have prepared some gift ideas for you that you can easily make by yourself at home. Home-made gifts are the most beautiful, because you put your own effort and love into them. We really like to give our loved ones such gifts, because they are always happy, as all gifts are very useful and delicious!

Here we’ve put together 5 gift ideas for you, all food related, of course!

1. Homemade granola in a glass jar

You need:

  • glass jar,
  • small card,
  • pen,
  • decorative ribbon,
  • nice paper napkin and
  • granola.

  1. First, of course, you need to bake homemade granola. You can make any flavor, we think the most suitable is Christmas flavoured granola with apples and cinnamon (for which you can find the recipe below). You can also make granolo with pistachios, strawberry granola or any other.
  2. When the granola is ready, fill a glass jar with it.
  3. Wrap the jar lid in with napkin and close the jar.
  4. On a small card, write what is in the glass, for example: “Homemade granola – apple and cinnamon”, you can also add some nice wishes …
  5. Make a hole on top of the card and thread it on a decorative ribbon or string and tie it just below the lid with a nice bow.

2. Homemade cookies in a simple paper box

You need:

  • homemade cookies,
  • 2 thick A4 sheets of paper of any colour,
  • decorative Christmas stickers,
  • glue and
  • 2 paper napkins.

  1. Of course you have to bake the cookies first. You can bake just one type of cookie or several different ones. It is recommended that you choose cookies that stay good for a long time, for example:
  2. Once you have the cookies ready, it’s time to prepare the box. The box is very simple and therefore easy to prepare. Prepare the bottom by taking one sheet of paper, fold all the edges to the same length (about 5 cm) and fold at the corners and glue together, as shown in the photo below.
Prepare the lid in a similar way, but cut the paper a little so that it is about 16 x 24 cm. However, the edges should be so high that the box can be covered (the easiest way to make the right size is to place the bottom of the box on the cover paper, outline with a pencil and then fold it a bit from the line). Glue the corners again and, if desired, decorate both parts of the box with stickers, but you can also draw something or write a nice wish.
  3. Line the bottom of the box with paper napkins and place homemade cookies in it.
  4. Close the box, tie a decorative ribbon if you wish and a delicious gift is ready!

    • 10 g cocoa powder,

(This amount of ingredients is for 4 cups of hot chocolate, if you have a glass of different size, you can put different amount of ingredients: half, double it …)
  3. Write the preparation instructions on a small card so that the person receiving this gift will know how to prepare hot chocolate.
