Smoothies are a great healthy breakfast or snack, because they are full of vitamins and minerals and fuel body with lots of energy.
In the summer time smoothies are our go to meal, because they are so refreshing! And there are so many kinds of fruits and also veggies in season right now, that can be used for smoothie. The best thing about smoothies is, that you can never get bored of them, with infinite different possible combinations of fruits and veggies. Here you will find a few ideas, what to put in your smoothie, these are our favourite combinations.
We love thick, creamy smoothies, that we can eat out of a bowl with some delicious toppings. For that reason we often use some frozen fruits instead of fresh, because they make a nice thick texture. But if you prefer smoothies that you can drink, just add a bit of plant milk or water and don’t use frozen fruits. We also often add some plant protein powders, usually pea or hemp ones.
For toppings we usually use some superfoods, like goji berries, chia seeds, cacao nibs, coconut and fruits.
1. Green smoothie
Green smoothies are extremely healthy, because they are full of vitamins and minerals. Spinach is a great source of antioxidants, and all of the other ingredients are also extremely healthy, so this smoothie is a true vitamin bomb, perfect for breakfast!
Ingredients that you’ll need:
- 1 banana,
- 1 kiwi,
- 1 cup of fresh spinach (or 2 cubes of frozen spinach),
- 1/2 cup of pineapple,
- 1 small apple,
- 1 tablespoon of flaxseeds.
Just put everything in a blender and blend for a few minutes, until you get a smooth texture.
2. Tropical smoothie
Tropical smoothie si one of our favourites, it is just perfect for hot sunny days and makes us feel like we’re on some tropical beach.
All you need is::
- 1 frozen banana,
- 1/2 of mango,
- 1 cup of pineapple,
- 1 teaspoon of flaxseeds.
If you prefer to drink your smoothie, add a little bit of coconut milk or water and make yourself the perfect tropical smoothie drink.
3. Pink smoothie
Another incredibly healthy and beautiful vivid pink smoothie with beetroot. Beetroot has many health benefits and is a perfect ingredients for smoothies, because it adds them vitamins and creates a very pretty colour.
For this vivid smoothie you will need:
- 1 banana,
- 1/2 cup of frozen cherries,
- 1/2 cup of frozen raspberries,
- 1/2 cup of strawberries,
- 1 small fresh beetroot,
- 1 teaspoon of flaxseeds.
4. Peach smoothie
If you love fresh and juicy peaches and apricots, you have to try this one! We usually peel smoothies and apricots to get a perfect smooth smoothie.
You only need 4 ingredients for this sweet smoothie:
- 1 banana,
- 3 frozen apricots,
- 1 frozen peach,
- 1 donut peach.
5. Raspberry smoothie
For all the raspberry lovers, these gently pink smoothie is for you! And it’s not just beautiful, but also very delicious and sweet.
You will need:
- 1 cup of frozen raspberries,
- 1/2 cup of strawberries,
- 2 tablespoons of pomegranate seeds,
- 1 banana,
- 1 teaspoon of flaxseeds,
- almond milk.
6. Mixed berries smoothie
Berries are full of vitamins and very naturally sweet and this makes them a perfect smoothie ingredient and make a nice purple colour. We usually use frozen berries, that we always have at home and add some other fruits and spinach.
Ingredients:
- 1 banana,
- 1 cup of frozen berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries),
- 1 kiwi,
- 1 cube of frozen spinach,
- 2 tablespoons of pomegranate seeds,
- 1 teaspoon of flaxseeds,
- almond milk.
